James Key receipt to James Monroe [manuscript], 1799 June 10.

"Recd. from James Monroe to acct. of Dr. Bache in part pay for the land he purchased of me the sum of ninety nine pounds current money of Virga., as stated by sd. Monroe to have been weighed by Colo Bell, but wch for greter certainty, will be weighed again by Josehua Key with whom the money is deposited on this 10 of June 1799." Signed James Key.
